Isn't it kind of a Nationalistic holiday?

Yeah, once I was standing in a lady's kitchen smelling her sweet potato pies and watching her baste her turkey; I thought, "What am I doing?"
I went home and cooked myself a dinner fit for a queen! Didn't finish until later that evening, but hey, I did it.
Take that, WT!

While they are eating their non-Thanksgiving trukey on Thurs or Friday or even the weekend (when many worldly people do too to make accomodations for family & travel) they will say how thankful they are that they are not like those evil worldly people celebrating a national holiday! please pass the potatoes, cranberries and pumpkin pie please! hypocrites.
Sooo true, Carla!
Well....I just hope I'm able to get my family member to THINK FOR HIMSELF!!
I think Outlaw just gave them a better excuse why not to celebrate Thanksgiving than the ones they currantly use.
When was the last time anyone was disfellowshipped for gluttony?
You'll probably get the standard, "we should be thankful everyday, not just one day of the year!" responses.
You should also love and respect your spouse every day, yet it is symbolized with your wedding anniversary celebration.
What gives?

They don't need to be. Gluttony is too expensive for a JW.
