Did you throw ALOTS of old WT/AW magazines in the trash while you were a loyal dub?

I threw out a lot of magazines, and always felt guilty that I didn't recycle. Our recycling bin is open and I was paranoid that the JW's in service would see them in there.

I never felt right about throwing them away so they tended to just accumulate in boxes around the house. Once I was making a giant paper mache Death Star to wear as a costume and I put the magazines to use then. An elder buddy didn't exactly appreciate that.

It would be funny if the did a JW episode of that Hoarders TV show where they go into the house and it is wall to wall literature with a narrow path running through each room.

It kind of makes you wonder just how many tens or hundreds of millions of magazines books and tracts are mouldering away in attics, basements etc. I threw mine away all the time... but my family members keep them... they've got years and years worth. An old uncle died and when they cleared out his home, they found thousands of magazines.

When I finally faded completely, I had a nice clear out, and now, you won't find a single hint of that dark period in my life.

    ASILENTONE,

Well, I didn't throw it in the garbage but I left it in public places and on public transportation.

To be honest, there weren't too many people who wanted it and I had to do something with it. One sister said that if I was just placing it with a 'seat' it didn't count. The way I looked at it was the next person who sat down would glance at it and might turn a page before they threw it away. I think this was also the case when the JWs placed them at doors. People would look at it and only maybe if there was a particular article of interest they would read it. Otherwise it got thrown out.

So much of the religion's literature ends up littering the landscape and is truly a waste of trees and paper.
