I can't imagine this story is correct in its details. Since when does The Watchtower own major earth moving equipment? Isn't it more likely a local brother has a construction outfit and he is donating the use of the equipment in the WT's name?

I know in the past the Watchtower has donated equipment for park projects and money for fire trucks. Often this is used to curry favor with the local community/municipality, particuarly as it benefits Watchtower building projects.

This is a great PR move by the WT$.
They're not donating money... just the use of their equipment, so it really doesn't cost them anything. And they get some good PR.

In the 19th century, when people heard of the Salvation Army, they typically thought, "Cult! Weirdos!"
Today when people hear of the Salvation Army, they think of them as a good Christian charity.
Helping the (non-JW) community can change attitudes, although it has to more than a little here, a little there.

I think it is a trait of psycho-abusers to send flowers once in a while to throw you off track. It's all about tactics and leverage.

Once the field is complete, Witness kids still won't be allowed to participate in any school sport that is played on it.

The WTS owns a great deal of construcion equipment - they need it to build their paradise at Patterson
I Have a couple of questions in mind:
How close is this field to WT property?
Does the drainage problem affect the WT property or will it have an effect if ignored?
I totally agree that the WTS is learning that if they want something from the community they have to give back something. Just know there will be a price tag attached to it in the future

It will cost the WT almost nothing for this huge PR move.

I was expecting to get to the very end of this article and find out it was written by SD-7. So there is some legitimacy to this article? Crazy. In all my life I've never known the WT to donate anything. Everything and anything not WT related is part of Satan's world. So what gives in this case?
