I just wanted to kick off a topic that I thought might be relevant following What prayers does God answer?

EDIT: (JWfacts, I'm certainly not making fun of you or your thread because I understand your rhetoric. It's a great question.)

EDIT2: I realized the original Title (For which teeth does the tooth fairy pay?) was not at all inviting so I added a little kicker.

    Which prayers does God answer?

Getting back to the tooth fairy analogy - Only small children find a quarter under their pillow where they left a baby tooth. When they get old and lose their teeth they get mush.

Dear sweet AGuest, you answered my second question but not my first. What gives? :frowning:

Also, are those the only disqualifiers for prayers to be answered by god?

Dear sweet AGuest, you answered my second question but not my first. What gives? :frowning:

Nothing gives, dear SBC (peace to you!). I don't know the answer to the first, so I didn't address it (although my GUESS would be "none"... or "depends on who's playing 'tooth fairy' at the time"...)

Also, are those the only disqualifiers for prayers to be answered by god?

Pretty much (although an unclean heart/motive/spirit might be in there somewhere, too).

    Again, peace to you!

So we've narrowed down criteria for god to answer a prayer:

AG: The ones where the individual isn't praying to himself... or some other god.
SBC: Are those the only disqualifiers for prayers to be answered by god?
AG: Pretty much (although an unclean heart/motive/spirit might be in there somewhere, too).

If that's true, what would happen if you personally (to rule out the last disqualifier of course) prayed for an end to war and famine?
