she has had strange coloured discharge from one breast for a while now. the doctor didn't really seem to take it seriously. yesterday she shouts me screaming and she shows me blood coming from her nipple, like you would expect milk to. she didn't massage or work her breast, it just came out on its own. It did the same while she was in the shower today.

she has an appointment with the doctor tommorow. i just HOPE TO GOD its nothing serious and that its an infection or something. i got 3 kids that all love and need their mum more than i ever will.

strangely i don't feel over anxious or upset, she was crying today worrying about her appointment tomorrow. i just feel kind of numb.

kw, thats tough. We would always rather it be us then them.. but take heart. breast cancer is very treatable and you know NOTHING yet. Postive thoughts. check this link out. Knowledge is truly power. She may be very shy and timid about asking questions when at the doctors, being in a bit of shock. YOU advocate for her!!! It will help you feel empowered and be a huge support to her

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I shall read that site now elderlite.

It's just we've had a bit of a stressful year with a courtcase that really took its toll on her both physically and emotionally, especially because it didn't have the outcome she (we) hoped for.

She even went to work! I really can't match up to her strength and courage, if it was me, with all the uncertainty, i'd be in pieces right now. She cried for a few minutes then just carried on as normal.

Anyway yes, positive thinking and all that. Its only a doctors appointment, i assume tomorrow will determine the next step if anything needs doing at all.

well please dont take her going to work as a sign that she is strong and dosent her man to support her! There is comfort in routine, that is all. be there for her.

you are also correct in that the first appointment is only the first step. Expect three to four visits to different doctors before you get even the first diagnosis, which may or may not be correct. Just be calm, and stay informed. keep plugging away at it until YOU are satisfied, not the doctors.

I will do my best to make sure i'm there for her. I am not one for being fobbed off by doctors anyway mate, had a few things myself that i persevered with until i was 100% happy with the diagnosis. She isn't a quitter either, she won't rest until she has all the facts/answers.
