The Calvary Chapel group under its Leader got on board the End Times money wagon during the first Gulf War, when it didn't lead to the Second Coming they got bummed and the money train slowed.
Same with Jerry Falwell and his Moral Majority, it had a nice run and rang the cash register to the tune of millions, no Second Coming and the dollars went bye bye.

I'm intrigued now; the fact that the Watchtower Society has milked that particular 'cash cow' so much longer than your examples - the reasons for that have been touched upon, but I'd like to see some of the on-board psychologists or perhaps sociologists analyze that in depth...
