Somebody asked a similar question a week or more ago and my question was to those who still attend is the same as yours, a few answered back and said they do it because they know they will be cut off from family if they stop attending.

i "dithered" for several years, attending occasional meetings, memorial, CA's etc, just to keep the domestic peace;
so i can sympathise with those who stay in for family's sake.
However, what of these members who still "hold office"--aren't they still upholding the interests of the WATBITS?

Its only for a handful of hours throughout the week. We spend forty hours or more at work. We spend untold hours in front of the TV. Whats wrong with giving the almighty faithful and discreet slave a handful of hours throughout the week?

Big mac, you arrogant ass.. let me ask... who do you think provides the board with all the "confidential" letters, and elder books and such..? could it be "those still holding office"... nah.. couldn't be. Its the letter fairy.. or maybe someone from the branch forwards them.. well whatever it is, there are a lot of folks who have beneifted from the inside glimpses of "jehovah's " organization. Thank Jah for the letter fairy!!
So to all of you cowardly slackers who are still "holding office".. GET IT RIGHT!! DO SOMETHING!!! ANYTHING!!!

That's time better spent sleeping, reading, staring into space, or doing any other activity! Let me tell you, you don't realize the toll the meetings, and FS take on you until you quit doing it.
It wouldn't be so bad if you could just go on Sundays like a regular church. But of course they aren't a regular church.

Some are able to compartmentalize for a really long time. If you are an intellectually honest person, at some point you have to move on. I would guess that for most it becomes absolutely intolerable somewhere between a year and 18 months after you know the truth about the truth. For me, I could not attend in good conscience after about a year of knowing, damn the consequences.
Those who can go for years are truly long suffering!
