    Who is the Thief Lord?

The Lord is the one who governs you.

It may not be who you would like to think it is.

To whom have you given your authority to rule you----Caesar? the Governing Body?

Those to whom you have given allegiance and authority are your "Lords".

Someone sent me a PM about the film, recalling the "stir" it caused among Evangelicals, at the time. Thank you.

I didn't see the film at the time, but I did hear of it. I was a young JW then but if I'd had the nerve to see it, I would have been more convinced than ever that something apocalyptic was brewing and the end was soooooo very near.

Doesn't this film and the mentality it fosters demonstrate how easily strength of conviction becomes "truth" of conviction? What suckers we humans are: We genuinely believe something significant is about to happen with all our hearts and, presto! it gets transformed into "the Truth". Years later we realize what blubbering and blinded fools we were. Sadder yes, but wiser!

I watched the first part. Those girls should have been out in field service rather than at a carnival getting moustache rides.

I'm going to assume that all the Jesus freaks had actually run away and killed themselves so that they would be magically "raptured" into a spaceship that was hiding on the other side of the sun.

All those actors and actresses must be at retirement age and still expecting to be raptured "very soon now" because they're "saved".

Haven't JWs already experienced the thief in the night?

Aren't JWs sleepwalking in a night twilight while reading the Awake?

Haven't they already had their dreams of higher education stolen from them by the Lord WatchTower's dictates?

Haven't they had their hobby time and family time stolen from them by Lord WatchTower's demands on their time---field service and what--four meetings a week?

Haven't they had their youth stolen from them by Lord WatchTower causing them to spend all their time in "disciplined WT arrangements" like Bible study and no fun allowed?

Haven't they had life's small pleasures stolen from them by Lord WatchTower---no parties, no celebrations, no fraternizing with people who are not "one of us"?

Haven't they had their desires and ambitions stolen from them by Lord WatchTower subtly implying that couples should not have children because of Armageddon being so near?

I would say the Lord who comes as a Thief has already come.

Watched the first part but I can't say I recall the film. I know that a good JW would not have watched it with all those "Long Haired" hippy types and those girls short dresses. Brings back good memories when I was in high school.....
