I have heard of a congregation where many elders were deleted because the attended the wedding of a baptised sister and newly baptised brother. They had been courting openly before his baptism and the elders were told they exercised a lack of judgement by attending the wedding.

Religion is mad bad and dangerous to know.

Best one I ever heard was from Flipper himself: being disfellowshipped for "circumstantial fornication."

What is that? Well, it basically means, "we have no proof whatsoever that you committed fornication, but it kinda appears that you put yourself in a position where you COULD commit fornication, so we are going to df you. Just in case you actually DID commit a crime that we have no evidence for."

Unfortunately, the dfing in that case is not also a "circumstantial" one. It's the real deal and carries the same punishment as a regular dfing.

If folks cannot understand anything else, I hope they understand that when the WTS wants something done, and they can find no Biblical reason for it, they just make up shit as they go.

Same thing happened with Ray Franz. They wanted to get him, but he lived such an exemplary life, they couldn't. So they DFd him for having lunch with a DAd person. Then AFTER they did that, they made up a new law which stated that eating with a DAd person was a dfing offense.

The King of England was notorious for using "ex-post facto" and "writs of attainder" to punish people from "crimes" committed that were perfectly legal to commit at the time they were committed. This is precisely why our United States Constitution forbids such practices.

The WTS doesn't give a shit about justice, morality and fairness. They spit on the Constitution all the time. That is one of the many, many reasons I detest those evil bastards and will do everything I possibly can to expose their lies and treachery.

I knew a mentally ill brother, a sweet, sweet man, who was df'd after he had a nervous breakdown. The congo elders were worried about him seeming a bit whacky to worldly people, so they took care of that, yes sir, they said he was too whacky to remain in good standing. Then there was a sister who was very, extremely manic. She stepped out on the hubby when she was manic. So they kicked her out, to keep the congo clean. What else could they do? What would the worldly's think?

I have seen many mentally ill people kicked out. Then they were shunned. This is cruelty at its finest. It was one of the biggest things on my Things That Make You Go Hmmm list.

I've known some of these happening also.

A young man on medications and steals from a store...disfellowshipped.

An affair found out 20 years later...disfellowshipped.

    A bi-polar depressed tried to commit suicide...disfellowshipped.

A person with multiple personality disorder commits adultery...disfellowshipped.

There is no love. Those that are repentant still get disfellowshipped in order to make an example out of them. They are tormented with having to jump through hoops and treated as worthless. I have seen it first hand and it was a major issue that helped me see the truth about the Society. It destroys families and plays God.

I was DFed 3 times. All were for legitimate reasons, as far as Borg rules were concerned. Their rules, my transgressions, no complaint

The second time I was attempting reinstatement, the elders told me I had to trim my sideburns before they'd let me back in. Attend every meeting. Study. Underline the answers in your Watchtower. Show humility. Jump through all the hoops.

But before we'll allow you back in, you have to trim your sideburns. They can't grow below the middle of your ear. I thought that was chickenshit

I trimmed them. That was chickenshit too

    Dark Side,

Question...would a person trying to get back in for the third time be held out much longer? Just curious on time frames for a 2nd and 3rd Dfing.

    issa,

:Question...would a person trying to get back in for the third time be held out much longer? Just curious on time frames for a 2nd and 3rd Dfing.

I've heard a number of times that certain Elders have had a "3 strikes" rule on Dfing, going so far as to tell the poor schmuck that they might as well prepare to die because they will NEVER get reinstated.

    Dark Side,

Question...would a person trying to get back in for the third time be held out much longer? Just curious on time frames for a 2nd and 3rd Dfing.

I can only speak about my own situation. The first time I was very anxious to get back in. I had a wife and two small children. It didn't take long. I did was I was told to do

The second time I was living away from my wife and kids. I had moved to find a job and a place to live for my family. The elders in my home congregation disfellowshipped me while I was away, for past transgressions. I had to deal with them over the phone and through the congregation I was attending in California. That took a long time. Eventually, I trimmed my sideburns and was reinstated

The third time, I said fuck it and never looked back. It was one of the best decisions of my life

Since then, some old "friends" have asked me to "repent" and "come back". I get the impression from them that it wouldn't be that difficult or take very long. I'd just have to play the game

Keep in mind, that last time was in 1991. I've been told by these "friends" that things have changed and reinstatement isn't as hard as it used to be

little imp, so I take it he was living at home; kind of hard to avoid them since they are still responsible for him if he is under 18.
