    2 Cor 6:14

Always been given that scripture about marrying someone who is not a JW or same belief. While that may be true, I just realized when reading vs 14-17 that was talking about the congregation. The exact thing that happened when christians took in pagans and adopted their customs. Anyway just thought I'd mention it, looks so obvious, but never heard it taught that way.

    Yes, you got that right.

I always thought that might mean things like

If you are terribly smart, don't marry someone as dumb as a box of rocks, .....it will be frustrating

Seriously, if that meant only someone of another faith, I think the bible would have made a much bigger deal of it. You can't quote one scripture and try and make everything else fit just that one scripture. In the OT, the Jews took wives from captives, etc, etc....

14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness

So is this why they think us atheists are wicked?

For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common?

And critically thinking people ( atheists ) are all wicked and evil people that all should wisely stay clear from.

But wait a second, of you read the word of god ( the bible ) God himself was responsible for creating acts of murder,

rape, slavery, genocide, degradation of woman and killing plagues .....etc. etc.

He is suppose to be the most righteous and just and loving.

I guess he got influenced by Satan too

Oh man I'm all confused !

I say " Do not become unevenly yoked with believers", ergo I agree with the bible.

I dunno. JW's always confused me while growing up. I just know that I have some of the greatest friends now then I did in that religion. Infact, the guy I'm married to now (a non-believer like me. lol) is open minded about other religions, doesn't care if someone is gay or straight, doesn't judge anyone because of race or beliefs. The JW's I knew, would have a cow if someone was friends or married outside the religion. For me and my household, we believe in the bible and not man made religions cults.

Hmmmmm...I think I figured it out. The Bible says, we should use that god as an example, right? I think many humans have and do...just that very thing.

My parents are still hopeful that I am the prodigal daughter that will return. Last week my father told me "Do not become interested in anyone that is not a lover of god and the bible and they must have a meek disposition" (JW words for - he has to be a little peon that I can brainwash.) My response was “Hmmmmm….I will be sure and do that”

and then I will run like hell!
