That's all I've got in forty years that came from door-to-door.
I saw this thread yesterday and gave it a few minutes thought and couldn't come up with five in all my years associated with the JWs. I never "brought" anyone in... something I'm glad of now.
My mother was a D2D convert. I've learned over the course of my life that she wasn't necessarily happy at the time and was looking for answers. Too bad JWs came knocking...
I remember a friend of mine whose mom was a D2D convert. A farmer's wife who was stuck at home with 3 kids, never going out or having a life of her own. She took to it and drug her kids into it. Her husband never joined but allowed her some freedom in it.
There was a young couple who joined. They were cool and hip. College grads who owned their own business and were successful. I think they were lonely. They were a long ways from their families. They befriended the older couple that studied with them. I think they admired the old couple and realized if these two were so happy late in life, then maybe it is something to look into. I remember after they got baptized there were some issues. They were fairly 'worldly' in their tastes and attitude. They never fully succumbed to the indoctrination. They got divorced later. Lost touch with them after that.
I'm sure there were others, but that's all the ones I can remember after thinking about for a day. The D2D work is highly inefficient and unsuccessful...
