As XJWs, we know that the year 1975 marked the 6,000 th year of man's existence.

This being an "incontrovertible Bible truth™" our penultimate ancestor Adam was only about 500 years old when some of his offspring - probably Sven, Knut and their nameless women - journeyed far north of Eden to establish a village that has just been discovered by archaeologists.

This is truly an amazing tale!

I'm sure the Dub answer would be this:

The scientists dates are off. This town was obviously destroyed during the flood of Noah's day.

    Interesting...

I'm kinda skeptical but I'll think about this. I have my doubts as to the reliability of many dating methods achaeologists have devised so far...

    quote from article:

Signs indicate that the settlement wasn't simply deserted over time. Instead, a sudden event caused it to be encased in sand, leaving it hidden for centuries.

"Most probably the site was suddenly flooded, and covered with sand by the nearby river," Sundström said.

MadSweeny could be right. It could have been covered during the Great Flood. It seems to be what the scientists are speculating from the above dialogue.

    --------------

The Norwegian settlement was likely built by people of the Funnel Beaker Culture -- a late Neolithic culture that thrived in northern Europe and Scandinavia between 4,000 B.C. and 2,400 B.C., according to Digital Journal.

    quote: http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v4/i1/noahs_flood.asp

The placing of a catastrophic global flood in the year 2304 BC means that all civilizations discovered by archaeology must fit into the last 4,285 years.
