If there were a God like the one you believe in, he would love good people no matter how much solid evidence they overlooked and believed in him or how much solid evidence they didn't overlook and didn't believe in him.

There's not even any need to be upset about any kind of belief or the absence of beliefs. Why would you get upset at your son? He's still your son and you love him.
We can look at it this way: People are going to define themselves by their beliefs, but we don't have to define them that way. Why should we, if we don't believe in those ideas?
