when a min servant from bethel was found out to have abused a lot of kids in the congregation it was said by a few in the congregation that he not a "real " jehovahs witness ! despite the fact that right up to his arrest many thought he was so wonderfull and spiritual ! then when my daughters abuser was convicted a young woman in the congregation whos sister was another victim used the saying to me that he was not a "real jw ! an elder had said it to her ! a elderly lady said to me " i often wondered why he had never been made a elder , i suppose jehovah wouldnt allow it " i said "maybe that was because the elders knew he had abused a girl before , and not anything to do with jehovah ! " how come a catholic priest isnt a "real catholic" when accused of abuse ! did anyone else hear this saying ?
can anyone explain the saying "he was not a real jehovahs witness "

can anyone explain the saying "he was not a real jehovahs witness "
Not logically or rationally...
But, going by my past experience, they thought like this because they could not fathom that a true believer could do such a thing. So the phrase, "he wasn't a real witness" meant that while he may have 'pretended' to be a JW, deep down inside, he was not a lover of Jehovah, but practiced things of Satan. He fooled them. He lied. He wasn't true to the faith. Therefore he wasn't really one of them.

Mind control has the Dubs misinterpreting 1 John 2:18-21:
Young children, it is the last hour, and, just as YOU have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of our sort; for if they had been of our sort, they would have remained with us. But [they went out] that it might be shown up that not all are of our sort. 20 And YOU have an anointing from the holy one; all of YOU have knowledge. 21 I write YOU , not because YOU do not know the truth, but because YOU know it, and because no lie originates with the truth.
They weren't "real JWs" because "they left" and "they left" because they weren't "real JWs." It is the typical circular reasoning the Borg is rife with.

This is a total misunderstanding that just about ALL JWs have. A Christian CAN fall away. Does that mean that he was never a Christian? Of course not. He may not have ever been a Christian if he was just using the title to get away with bad practices. Same with this JW. It really is only semantics anyway. NONE of us know who has been saved and who has not. We can be discerning and look at the fruits of people. But it is not up to us to judge or question why God judges one way or another.

It's a way of protecting "Jehovah's clean organization."

Its a defense mechanism that allows them to never have any question or doubt surface about the organization. Its insufficient to say "This organization had a problem and we took steps to correct the problem when we figured it out." Thats too bad because, honestly, thats a good thing. But no, they have to insist that there NEVER WAS A PROBLEM in the first place. That is when it becomes dangerous.

I explain it this way: There are surprisingly few "real" JWs; most are cardboard cutouts with hollow insides. It's only when they get caught up in their spiel that you realize there's not much going on inside.

What that saying means when translated into English: "We are PERFECT and have a spotless record. If you see that somebody did something wrong they could not POSSIBLY have been one of us..... (I guess they were just faking it)"
The religion needs to keep up the false front that they are better than people in other religions.

Don't you think it is kind of funny that when witlesses are jailed for murder fraud and child molesting "they were never REALLY jw anyway."
Yet the Witchtower has often pointed out that the US prison population has a disproportionately high number of catholic inmates.
Dont they know that the Church of Rome condemns such things?
Cant they accept that these were never really catholics??

Geez, I wonder why Jehovah allowed him to molest children but didn't allow him to be an elder.
