TO ALL CIRCUIT AND DISTRICT OVERSEERS
Dear Brothers:
Keep in mind that to be disfellowshiped, an apostate does not have to be a promoter of apostate views. As mentioned in paragraph two, page 17 of the August 1, 1980 , Watchtower, "The word 'apostasy' comes from a Greek term that means 'a standing away from,' 'a falling away, defection,' 'rebellion, abandonment. Therefore, if a baptized Christian abandons the teachings of Jehovah, as presented by the faithful and discreet slave, and persists in believing other doctrine despite Scriptural reproof, then he is apostatizing. Extended, kindly efforts should be put forth to readjust his thinking. However, if, after such extended efforts have been put forth to readjust his thinking, he continues to believe the apostate ideas and rejects what he has been provided through the 'slave class, then appropriatejudicial action should be taken.
As can be seen in this letter just disagreeing with a WT doctrine can end up with judicial action being taken.
Orwellian! "Thoughtcrime does not entail death, thoughtcrime IS death"

Darn ! I should have taken it yesterday ....
I bet more than a few new elders were delighted to see this - I imagine there will be a few wives who get to look at this page of the book:
Paragraph 5:
Oral & Anal sex is ok as long as YOU ARE married to each other.
Paragraph 5:Oral & Anal sex is ok as long as YOU ARE married to each other.
This is not a change. Their stance for more than a few years is that oral and anal sex between married individuals is not pornea. If you engage in such sex-acts with your spouse you will not be brought before a JC on charges of fornication. Although I haven't seen it touched upon yet in the book there may still be other consequences such as losing privileges of service.
5. Por·nei'a: (Lev. 20:10, 13, 15, 16; Rom. 1:24, 26,
27, 32; 1 Cor. 6:9, 10) Por·nei' a involves immoral use
of the genitals, whether in a natural or in a perverted
way, with lewd intento There must have been another
party to the irnmorality-a human of either sex or
a beast. Willing participation incurs guilt and requires
judicial action. It is not a casual touching of
the sex organs but involves the manipulation oE the
genitals. It ineludes oral sex, anal sex, and manipulation
of the gen itals between individuals not married to
each other. (Iv p. 99; w06 7/15 pp. 29-30; w04 2/15
p. 13; wOO ll / l p. 8 par. 6; w83 6/1 pp. 23-26) Pornei'a
does not require skin-to-skin contact, copulation
(as in penetration), or sexual climax.
Paragraph 5 is not a change, nor does it express an approval of oral or anal sex between married persons. The 1983 WT magazine remains the latest word on this topic. The WT considers oral and anal sex between married persons to be perverted.
(By definition, married people cannot commit porneia with each other. The very definition of the word implies that someone outside of a marriage is involved.)
Pornei'a
does not require skin-to-skin contact
It seems my copy of the Kama Sutra is outdated....
Pornei'a does not require skin-to-skin contact
Yeeeah. Perhaps I've led a sheltered life; perhaps I'm lacking in imagination; but how could that work exactly?
It means they can df you for porneia for getting a lap dance!
Or if young bro Hardcock shoots his load while dryhumping his girlfriend ...
