Romo won't need surgery for break
IRVING, Texas -- A CT scan on Tuesday morning revealed Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will not need surgery for his broken left clavicle, coach Wade Phillips announced on Tuesday.
Phillips said Romo would be sidelined six to eight weeks, with the longer time period more likely, sources said.
It is possible that Romo will not play again this season since that timetable would not permit him to return to the lineup until mid-December. At that point, the Cowboys would probably be inclined to hold Romo out to avoid the potential of him reinjuring the shoulder, unless backup Jon Kitna puts the Cowboys in playoff contention during Romo's absence.
