I think if an (intelligent) questioning JW was able to read the letter about coil binding the book the impact could/should be greater. This letter should be an embarrassment to the gb. What blatant and stupid instructions sent to a large group of men who are supposed to be available to instruct in an intelligent way persons coming with an assortment of life's problems. It reads more like instructions to a group of kids who are playing a game. They have made up a little code book and must keep it secret from the other groups in their little game. The instructions that "or sisters are not permitted to do this work" should be and I am convinced must be so offensive to women. They have already said that the elder should oversee the process and still a woman is not allowed. It should spark a few brain cells simply in the fact that this letter presumes that fellow believers male or female cannot be trusted. That letter is simply infantile.

Obviously coil binding is more important than preaching the word....and most of that is done by women. I can remember the book study conductor arranging car groups and then disappearing....picking up his dry cleaning, having his car looked over, getting gas, and getting back in time for coffee break that lasted until 11:45 while he ordered and ate a complete breakfast.

sisters are not permitted to do this work
I love little gems such as that... I think they pretty well summerize the level of sophistication behind the WT leaders and their "god":
"Girls are ICKY!! This is secret boy stuff!"

I agree... They demean women. This is just another example.

What sisters could and couldn't do in Bethel could be such a big deal. Teaching Committee would never let a female near, because it wasn't her place. Only dudes with dicks were allowed in their private club. But with Writing Committee, the sisters had plenty of access to all kinds of "confidential" stuff. That's how Barbara Anderson learned more than anydubby was supposed to know.
Just nobody share this horrifying secret... sisters were involved in translating the earlier flock book. Right at Patterson, it was sisters that translated the entire text into English Braille... But nobody tell the GB that little tidbit!
