Canada's "Prime Minister of the Blues" (hey, that's what BB King named him)
Dutchie was well-known for his love of women, and Grand Marnier. One night, I went to see him at the Middle Deck, and was privileged to be sitting next to him at the bar between sets. He refused my offer to buy him a drink, though. By then, he was takin' it easy cause his arthritis (hands) was getting so bad. For the last few years of his career, he could no longer play the piano, but never lost his great voice.
RIP Dutch, one of the Cdn Greats!

Long John Baldry with EJ on piano .....
Used to go see him at the "Old Misty Moon", with Kathy McDonald singin' backup
RIP John ... one of the best entertainers Canada ever had (and yes, he was originally a Brit, but like The Hawk, made Canada his home)
