Well, If you use the press correctly, there is generally very few if any grounds in your cup - I have left my coffee to stand over 20 minutes, and I don't consider it "spoiled." And if you are only brewing 4 cups at a time, twice a day - that is not much really anyway. I drink that all in one sitting sometimes. So, I wouldn't think there is much chance of it spoiling.

but, it is true that the coffee is stronger. If you don't like that - then perhaps drip is the best option for you. Although a lot of how strong a coffee is has to do with the blend and how long it sits with the grounds.

I'll take French Press over drip any day.

I wish there was a way to try coffee all these different ways first before I have to decide on something.

I have a French press. The coffee turns out yucky. Probably need the coarser stuff.

    Hi Cameo-d

    hehehe you just have to come on over.....lets see;

I have a Kruieg that brews k cups ( I also have instant hot water for tea as well) I use this when I have 5 mins to run out of the door in the morning.

I have a Black N Decker under counter mount 12 cup brewer with all the options. I use this when me and DH have a sleepy weekend and just hang out all day (sat or sunday) we keep a pot on the brew.

I have (My Favorite) my saeco esspresso machine with built in burr grinder. OH MY COFFEE GOODNESS! when I want a treat or when we have company this baby gets a workout.....BEST THING EVER! I also have just left it on all day and just run shots of espresso whenever I want an americano.

I have an awesome French Press in the cupboard.

So Come on over and have a cup!

Oh I do love espresso! Years ago I stopped at my favorite Cuban restaurant and had several cups of espresso. I went home and wrote, revised, and polished a one act play in three scenes which was selected for read and later performance at small local theatre! (Best I remember I didn't sleep for about 2 days). I am almost afraid of what a day of espresso might do to me again!!!!

Those espresso machines are pretty expensive, no?

buy the home version of the bunn its the type used at dunkin and most restraunts. why because it makes good coffee fast. you may use a bit more grinds because the water wich is in a heated tank goes through the coffee quikly, this is so only the coffee flavor and no bitterness enter. 3min to brew 10 cups. You just have to find the right ratio of grinds to the amount of water for excellent coffee. I know cause i have coffee issues. I dont drink for the addition but for tast and will through out coffee because most times its old not fresh. Never put the burner on, on your coffee maker it over heats your coffee and ruins the tast. example I love my steak mediem well, if you cook 1more minut longer you ruined my steak and I dont like you. If you make more than 1 cup reheat in microwave just enough to get hot not cook and that coffee will tast better than any left over coffee u'v had. With Love, Me

Cuisinart gets very high marks on quality and customer satisfaction from Consumer Reports. Also, if you like the single cup idea I think the Keurig is the hottest thing out there now. I have both, but lately use only the Keurig because I don't end up wasting any coffee.

I have a Cuisinart that is very nice, and brews great coffee. A french press makes absolutely the best coffee, IMO. Of course, you have to start out with good quality beans and a good roast, and it is a bit more work.

We're lucky in that we have no fewer than 10 local coffee roasters who all make excellent coffee.

And now to grab a cup

For brewed coffee I have a Barista and a Krups- I love the Krups and use it to make everythign from regular coffee to latte's, espresso etc.

I also have a Keurig for a quick brew cup every now and then but it doesn't taste as fresh as grinding your own beans so I don't use it often. Everyone that mentioned the French press- I miss mine, broke the glass a few years back and never replaced it. Makes a nice strong coffee depending on how long you steep before pouring.
