Some JWs are MORE obsessed with making sure they survive until Armageddon than the general population IMO. They are concerned that if they die before the Big A, they won't be able to be with their spouse in the New World.
Just my $.02. My Mom is a poster child for JW hypo-chondria.

Of course, we are aware that perfect health is not yet attainable. Therefore, we know that it is wise to avoid letting our health become an obsession or a constant concern. Our attitude should differ from that of those who have "no hope," who think that this life is all there is and who will resort to any therapy in an attempt to cure their ailments. We are determined not to forfeit Jehovah's approval in an effort to save our present life.
It sounds like they are hoping JW's die prematurely.

If growing old, sickness and dying are a punishment from God that he meant for us bear, by their own logic, wouldn't it be wrong for JW's take advantage of any of the cures or procedures that Satan's wicked system has devised to prolong our lives and make it possible to avoid the full brunt of the punishment we were meant to get ? Wouldn't this be like a rebellious kid who's parent sent to him to his room without supper to learn a lesson, only to have his friends sneak him a steak dinner through the window?
I'm very grateful to the ones they consider as "having no hope." ..the otherwise doomed..... who invented a way to eliminate dental pain, correct vision problems, remove tumors, set broken bones......and oh yeah. while were at it...invented the printing press.

I have never known a more health obsessed group than JWs, particularly with alternate therapies. Sicknesses went in waves of fashion, candida, chronic fatigue, depression.
