JW teens question

I've been out for 11 years and working on an assignment of what JW teens are into now, stuff that's seen as borderline where they can participate, but only to an extent.

An example pre-internet: we could skateboard, but couldn't be punk rock, so we hung out with the punk rockers at skate ramps and our parents didn't know.

What are the JWs saying regarding:

Facebook
Internet porn
Video Games
Sports, Skateboarding now, x-games type stuff
Music

Oh, please don't make me go to a meeting or convention to find out, i'll end up in the psych hospital again.

Moms:

facebook (she's on it too)

internet porn (oh god no!)

Video games ok (except Grand Theft Auto which the CO specifically named)

Sports, skateboards, x-games ok (but not miss meetings or FS of course)

Music (whatever, just don't let us listen to the lyrics)

Pretty much the same with the dads, except for internet porn (keep it in your room,son)

I just heard a C.O. emphasize that spending too much time doing 'good' things has the same negative impact of doing 'bad' things. They both distract from spiritual matters. Thank goodness for their generalizations that make life choices so simple.

Facebook is generally looked down upon. First question the elders asked me when I presented apostate teachings to them was "do you have a facebook".

Porn always has been a no-no.

Video games are bad. Unless you are playing them on the Wii.

Sports, skateboarding, etc. okay as long as you don't participate with non-JW's.

For music, I'm not sure if this is true or not but I believe a question on Bethel application is "How long has it been since you stopped listening to rock music" or something along those lines. So if they aren't kindom melodies, they are bad.

I know all of this

their JW Mother knows nothing about the facebook and porn or games, knows they are not sporty, and seems ignorant or uninterested in the music, although i doubt she is aware of the hardcore metal they listen to, nor the goings on at metal concerts.

They do not think they are doing anything UN-JWish...in fact tell me of upstanding baptised JW peers that are the same.
