OK Today's column is up on Freeminds but there is a problem and the images aren't up.

Well it's time to tackle a new adventure! But where do you start? Yesterday's column discussed some of the factors to take into consideration before buying your tree. Today we will discuss putting it together and decorating it.

First make sure you have everything you need. If you have bought a real tree make sure you have the water reservoir that actually holds the tree in place. Follow the directions for setting up your tree exactly as directed. It is no fun to see your tree lying on the floor in a puddle of water. When you bring your tree home you will have to cut 1/2 inch off the bottom of the stump and place the stump directly into water. Like cut flowers your tree needs a fresh cut bottom to soak up water.

You for now you can see the page

on Freeminds without the images at http://www.freeminds.org/support/dear-lee/how-to-decorate-your-first-christmas-tree.html

    Wow...that's lovely, Lee!

Stringing the lights along the boughs in towards the trunk and back out again makes the tree look awesome! It means you may need a strand or 2 more of lights but it is well worth it.

Interesting idea Heaven. I have 4 strands of 200 lights on this tree or was it 5 strands - can't remember. There are a lot which is why it glows in the dark and in the light LOL

I like the crystal effect or like it is draped in ice and snow. My daughter's trees are very different but that is part of the fun. Everyone's tree is different and it would be boring if they all looked alike.

This Christmas which looks like it will be the last Christmas in mankind's history ( http://www.focusonthebible2011.com ) is an example pf ido; worship . Like a car can be an idol to some people.

So far I have never prayed to my tree or expected anything from it . . .

and I doubt I will start

BTW folks feel free to ignore the link in OBVES's post. He's just preaching again

Me too! I love the way the lights reflect off metals and crystal on a tree. I like using ribbon to drape on the tree and one poster bought white feather boas which I thought was a great idea. I'd love to see the tree with the boas on!
