I hear things are getting bad in the old country? Food shortages and money/ fuel running out...
I could start ranting here about the Scandinavien countries who manage just fine with snow... but i'll let someone else do that.
I just heard that some people in north yorkshire got snowed in a pub for 8 days!... poor things;)
How are you all doing in the cold?
We have only had a couple of inches! I know further up north towards Scotland they have had up to 20 inches...I have to say though that in the small amount of snow we have had, people forget how to drive! There was a bit of slush on the road and the cars were crawling along at 5MPH! We have had rain today and it's cleared the vast majority of it! Thank goodness!

I have lived in a place that had a very cold long winter. They coped much better than here. Thankfully the worst seems to have gone from here at the present. But it was nice to not have to rise from my bed too early for a few days.
We've had about 18 inches, 16 came down in one night. We Brits just ain't used to it.
People are getting out now but it has been really bad and so, so cold. My poor little dog had to burrow her way under the snow and then stick her head out so she could get her bearings. Saying that, she has really enjoyed herself, she just loves it lol.
Had about 12 inches earlier in the week but last night we had torrential rain and it had all gone this morning.
Thursday was the worst day, all the traffic stopped, very few buses eventually running, meeting cancelled. We just cannot cope anymore. When I was younger and lived 'up North' this amount of snow was quite the norm but we coped without any problem. A bag of sand in the boot and a shovel took care of the deeper stuff!

Saying that, she has really enjoyed herself, she just loves it lol.
I think they all love snow :) I have to put booties on my pup when we get to -20 and colder, and he hates those booties, but he still wants to be out playing in the snow.
Double digit inches of snow in one night is a lot for anywhere.

Had breaks frozen on wifes car on friday with minus 9 C it was a no go to school day . Next week on Tues night it's going to be minus 18 C .

We have had a fair bit in your old stamping ground Highdose, a foot or so one day, and a bit more than that the next, then it turned milder and lots of rain as georgie boy said, not much snow left now.
Rumour has it we can expect some more from around the 12th or 13th onward, but that is a long way off in weather forecasting terms, we will wait and see.
It is a bit of a bugger when we get a lot, a lot for the U.K is anything more than half a snow-flake, but the trees and buildings all covered do look lovely and christmassy !
Loads and no sign of a thaw any time soon. This is what my house looks like at the moment...
