Why do JW's become so "active and spiritual" during the overseer's visit?

  The difference is that at the real job, people are motivated by trying to move up and earn more money. In the KH, most people are motivated by guilt and fear. That's why the 'hardly-ever-show-ups' show up for that week. In the real world, if you had employees that rarely showed up and never produced for the company, they'd be fired long before the corporate manager showed up. In the KH world, they're allowed to bring production averages down for the entire division. So when the manager does show up, those that have been busy and active get frustrated that this loser who hasn't done shit in 6 months can show up and kiss ass.

  My wife told me about the CO visit during the Thanksgiving week at her cong. We did not go. She went home with me for the holidays instead.

  I remember her telling me that witnesses who don't normally attend regularly would show up to see his talk. I remember asking why, what was so special about the CO that people who don't regularly attend come to see him talk? She said, "When you have a special speaker at your church, do you not attend?" Um, no... Especially if I have not been attending in a while.

  She gave up, I guess she figured I just did not get it.

  Yet, witnesses aren't suppose to have a special clergy class.

  It's the same deal as buying a "Memorial" dress. What the hell's the difference between an Easter dress and a "Memorial" dress. It was the big thing to outdo each other on the Memorial. Different denomination same status seeking.

  the higher up the tier the more prestige and respect , it's all very pretentiously played up where everyone's asshole tightens up

  and people actually anticipate that there might be some new light on the imminent time of Armageddon.

  I know when are CO came for a visit he got treated like royalty, driven around the PO Cadillac and taken to expensive restaurants.

  At any other time of the year you'll have elders going way over their allotted time on their parts, not minding if they encroach upon the next brothers' time w/ no apology. But during the C.O.'s visit they are as punctual as all hell (oops)!

  That is high on the list of hypocrisy.
