I've been out since 83.
I've been making up for lost time.
My wife decorates the house inside and out.
We go all out for christmass with a tree, fireplace and presents.
Its the season to be jolly.
If we couldnt afford the presents we would still give each other pieces of coal.

I love it, though I am not religious. To me it's a celebration of the season and my friends and family.

I have worked in a gift shop that has a huge Christmas section for many years . So it was easy for me to bring all the decor into my home once I quit the JWs .I was use to being around all of it already . I started slow and now have graduated to a full size tree and lights outside on the house . Next year the house is going to be totally lit up ! A friend at work gave me ALL her lights ,but it is too cold to put them up this year .

I don't feel apprehension, I just feel a little lost. Many families celebrate Christmas based upon tradition. I have no tradition. And my wife is no help. She is Taiwanese and has no history with Christmas.
A lot of the traditions, I just don't get. I think we will buy a tree this year. But I am only buying one to create a tradition for my daughter. Who do I give gifts to? Who should we send a card? I have no idea. Any help????

I celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa and the celebration introduce on
the Seinfeld show, can not remerber the holiday, but you express your
grievances with your family members. Not apprehensive what so ever.

This is the first Christmas since I got out. I'm using this as therapy, a way to get myself into normal society. I bought presents for everyone in my department at work. I only have a few family members I can buy gifts for so I got something for each of them. It feels nice to give.
