The only thing new I noticed was about the "Spiritual Paradise" already being here.
That is not new. In my childhood, it used to be our CBS conductor's favorite topic that God's people has been living in a Spiritual Paradise since 1919.

I do not think that they get rid of 607/1914 so soon. They still mention 1914 in each magazine. Ray Franz mentioned that the Society's srategy is to be silent about tenets to change for some time and than come up with the new light.

But I am convinced that many JW feel that there is someting wrong about the 1914 date.

Well her in Australia we are expected to fill in gaurdian forms to protect from legal ramifications on blood issues. Seems to be getting complicated.

Surely they know that any dramatic changes would be a disaster for them? Spesh the 1914 teaching....

I think they will very gradually get rid of the blood transfusion ban and for the annointed class things will be redefined so that it will carry on existing, being so versatile in changing dogma they can easily say the number wasn't completed in 1935 as Rutherford claimed.

Greendawn.....you did notice this thread was 5 years old.....right?

If changes were to be made, since they blew it badly when they changed what a "generation" consisted of in '95 and saw the flock making big changes in their lives to prepare for perhaps growing old and dying, I highly doubt they will drop dates that give creedence to the end being close.

My guess for any changes that come, will be legal advise changes from their attorneys that will include changes that will keep their asses out of court.....such as their two witness rule on child molesting, or the blood issue becoming a conscience matter.

To drop dates that give dubs less of a reason to preach the good news isn't on their "want" list.

What this thread illustrates most is that changes take place in the WT organization at glacier-like speed. You could revisit this in another 5 years, or 10, and it's unlikely much will change. They are "waiting on Jehovah" and praying for a miracle. If there is a trend in the dub world in the 5 years since Simon posed this question, it is to circle the wagons and turn up the sound.

Willyloman......always good to hear from you. Maybe you should start a thread such as, "What changes have taken place within the Organisation in the past 5 years?" We might be surprised. Doctrinal changes haven't changed much.....but I suppose proceedural changes have.

Gumpy I noticed the date, but still the changes I mentioned are not affected by the age of this thread.

or.......they could say those during the 1935 era "thought" they were of the annointed since this was the pre-existing ideas since Russels time as to the final destiny of Christ followers. They could say these sincere was must have evidently been of the Great Crowd which wasn't identified at the time......hence the reason for the numbers still being around 8000 today when most should have passed away by now. The big problem they now have is that the numbers sometimes grow when they should be getting smaller. They usually insinuate "unworthy partakers" for the latter.
