I have recently made contact on facebook with a witness family that I used to be very good friends with. They now live in Australia..she shared the name of one of their new songbook songs with me and commented that a lot of them sound like they are inspired by Prince and Michael Jackson..

If someone want to post it as a link feel free..

Song 171 "The Song of Victory"

Brought a tear to my eye..

Man o man.Not absolutely sure if I listened to the same song. I followed the link. No tears. I almost teared up at how pathetic it is. Prince? Michael Jackson? Not,.

You have to do a search on 'New Kingdom melodies' and if you go through them you can see some that may have the influence..

That new songbook is the pinnacle of their shitty writing. They sound like dying cats when sung. I can't recognize anything that it would sound like, other than... a bunch of dying cats...

The new songbook is awful. The old one was okay. This is just terrible. Some of the stuff is nearly impossible for untrained people to sing so it just sounds like a big mess.

The old song 171 used to be based on a scripture in Exodus (old testament). They apparently (I don't know for sure because I never heard the new version) tampered with it so it sounds like dying cats when sung. They seem to have a way of stripping all the life out of the witlesses.

And, hopefully I never have to hear any of the new Kingdumb Maladies. At least I get to listen to real music--I added something like 100 new Christmas songs, and I get to actually keep the existing ones.

I only went to a couple of meeting after the new song book was introduced. They were the lamest most woeful songs I had ever heard. if there was any any professional musician / songwriter involved the creation of these abominations I would be very surprised.
