I wanted to make a dramatic video to remind JW's to be faithful in what is least.

I need as many things as possible, each will only get a few seconds each but it will speed up until the things arent visable to the naked eye and it will end with a spining grinning satan head. Huh, I know it's nuts but trust me it wil work.

These are the types of things I'm looking for

    April fools day

    Hairstyles (beards, long hair)

    Romance Novels

    Bungy jumping

    Monopoly

I've never heard that one, either.

    Monopoly is not banned...

We used to have JW parties get-togethers for marathon games. I can see some stick-up-his-ass elder saying that JWs shouldn't play, but that's a personal opinion, not an edict from the GB/WTS.

In fact, a lot of what you see listed as banned is not necessarily banned. Some are obviously banned...things that will get you DFd. Smoking for instance. And celebrating holidays. And accepting blood transfustions. And associating with DFd people. Those are enough to focus on when criticizing the religion without having to add to the list things which are not banned.

I've noticed on these every-so-often repeated threads that a lot of things get listed that are not banned. Take beards for example... beards are not "banned". You can't get DFd for wearing a beard. You can lose privileges, you can be deleted as a servent, you can be ostracized (marked in JW lingo) even, but they're not banned.

The JW culture is to rule by peer pressure. Impress on enough people to not do something and most of the sheeple fall in line. Over time, they accept the perceived "ban" as gospel when there never was an official ban.

It's a fine point, sure, the difference between banned and discouraged in the JW world...but personally I think it detracts from the real issues of the religion by overly emphasizing the perceived bans of nitpicky things like beards and 2 door cars and Monopoly.

undercover you're right, banned was the wrong world

Allot of things the GB will say as personal choice are really more like "you can do what you want but true witnesses do this"

This video will be parly comedic. it was my intent to do the nit picking things of JW's, because that's what they are, nit pickers.

they feel they have to comment on stupid things like men having earings.

Thomas, i will credit you for the list
