Lite/suggestion: Take out the line that includes "audacious." Less emotion...it's a conclusion that if they have read this far, the reader will come to themselves.

How about they refuse military service or support of any government be it democratic or communist. They constantly change their beliefs via "new light".

Thank you for all the excellent suggestions. I will try to incorporate them. Disfellowshipping is very important, so definitely should be expanded on. Since this is designed for people studying with Witnesses, I may ask something such as; "since disfellowshipping has such a significant affect on a person's life, a person must make sure they are fully aware of the Watchtower history and practices prior to baptism."
bsmart - If you were printing the 2 page US letter one and using US letter paper, it must be your printer cannot print so close to the edge. I might need to make the margins larger, to cater for a wider range of printers.

That is a fantastic piece you've done there. The only thing I would perhaps add/alter is by adding specific mention that if you convert to being a JW and your child needs a blood transfusion, you will have to refuse the procedure and watch your child die instead. The true horror of a prospective scenario like that should be enough to make anyone re-think studying with 'the happiest people on earth'.

Thank you for this and all your work you do!! I printed from the '2-pager', printing on front and back, so using only one sheet of paper that way.

Great work Paul! This is excellent.
The only suggestion I have is on your last part, you could throw in the statement where they said "we never claimed definitely that 1914 would be the end".
But it looks great. I saved a copy for helping others. Thanks for putting this together.

Hi Paul,
Very well organized. Thank you for all that work -- and sharing.
Len Miller.
The following are suggested fixes [usually between brackets] for:

Jehovah’s Witnesses live by a strict moral
code based on [a] fundamentalist interpretation
of the Bible
Unquestioning [unquestioned] obedience
http://jwfacts.com/pdf/jw-pamphlet-2page-usl.pdf, page 2
The Watchtower claims there has [have] always been Jehovah’s
Witnesses.
Even during the 2,000 year period since Jesus, the Watchtower
has been unable to identify a single group that adheres to all the
teachings they claim are required for a "true Christian" to be
acceptable to God.
Did you actually intend?
Even during the nearly 1,900 year period From Jesus to Russell, the Watchtower
has been unable to identify a single group that adheres to all the
teachings they claim are required for a "true Christian" to be
acceptable to God.
A number of key Watchtower doctrine [doctrines] are based on flawed
assumptions.
. However, the history of this doctrine should put
doubt [as] to its validity.
These are the same historians the Watchtower trusts as a
basis for all other prophetic interpretation. [interpretations]
Although they claim 607 is necessary to make Bible prophecy
accurate, this in [is] incorrect.
The Watchtower is an eschatological, apocalyptic, end-
time religion. In addition to 1914 [until 19XX, thought to be 1874] originally being the year
for the world’s end, consider the following statements.
Shortly, within our twentieth century, the "battle in the day of Jehovah" will begin against the modern antitype of Jerusalem, Christendom. The Nations Shall
Know That I Am Jehovah p.216 [1971]
What affect [effect] have these falsehoods had on the lives
and decisions of followers?

"I remember one excuse for not taking a pamphlet was "we came to you, you didn't come to us". ..."
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
"Since you expect me to read YOUR literature, the very LEAST that YOU can do, is READ MY LITERATURE, too!!!!
And since you dropped in without even asking whether this time was CONvenient for me, or if I WANTED to hear about your religion, you can extend me the courtesy of considering MY viewpoint, too !!!
COURTESY cuts BOTH ways, you know!!!
Or do you believe that your "divine" errand sets you above courtesy and politeness???"

Paul, it's excellent. From a huge source of material, you've chosen some very good quotes.
Two suggestions:
1. You have referred to the fate of born-ins who decide to quit, but not those who join as adults. If the intended audience of the pamphlet is people who are studying with the Witnesses (or being urged to do so) the pamphlet should make clear that once baptised, individuals must obey all dictates of the religion. Those who may later choose to leave and formally resign are shunned; those who simply cease association but breach the religion's rules on conduct may, even years later, subsequently be questioned by a judicial hearing and disfellowshipped and shunned.
That was never spelled out to me when I joined! It may come as a shock to prospective members that once they've joined -- as sociologist Andrew Holden has pointed out -- those who later choose to leave "are seldom allowed a dignified exit."
2. The reference to blood transfusions needs to say "... Witnesses die, having to refuse blood transfusions on the basis of the religion's interpretation of a scriptural admonition to avoid eating blood".
A few minor points: "Is this truth?": (a) I'm not sure the reference to the Witnesses being an "eschatological" religion means much. (b) "The Watchtower" is not a religion. (c) "What affect" should be "what effect".

Thanks again, particularly Len for the lesson in grammar.
