  Sure, ALL of these DF'd ones have just turned their backs on Jehovah. What about those I know from PERSONAL experience that were sorry about what they'd done and wanted to clean up their act?   Appreciate your comment: all along they're slaves to a cruel organisation that ultimately will give them nothing of value back.

  I truly feel one day soon the Society will pay dearly for their abuse of power. Especially for the way they abuse the R & F with the disfellowship and shunning policy.

  Thanks MLE for posting the 'God's Glory' talk - fascinating and yes, at times jaw-dropping.

  The feel of all this - it strikes me - is what all the recent refs to 'trust and obey the FDS/GB's direction, even if you don't fully understand it' is all about.

  The harder lines on higher education, associating with disfellowshipped/disassociated, internet activity, urging increased FS activity for the sake of 'spiritual protection' and the renewed emphasis on how soooo very close to the end we are (boy, are they really pushing the latter two at the moment! - another recent CO visit, push, push push) is, I think, to see how seriously the individual pub./MS/Elder believes and trusts what the GB say, i.e. they are all tests of loyalty to the Org. Any 'slackers,' mavericks and skeptics will feel even more constrained and pressured and be weeded out eventually. (Yes, the 'Rehoboam effect' as someone already pointed out.)

  And to add, I also think this is a way of keeping the sheeples excited and busy so they don't think negative things about 2014 coming up. They wouldn't notice, perhaps, that all this recent power-posturing shows how nervous the GB is.

  Wow... read that again:

  "Elders have the right to monitor the entertainment choices of others and have been designated that authority by the faithful and discreet slave."

  That's a bold statement. Notice by what source they've been given authority... the Slave (read: the GB who represents the Slave). No biblical references...no mention of Jehovah or the holy spriit. The leadership is giving their local reps the authority to sneak and snoop on the sheeple. They'll be watching their Facebook accounts, they'll step up monitoring who they associate with, what movies and music and books they enjoy.
