The same way "Snow White" did the "apple" and little children do candy with razor blades in them, dear Miz Sylvie (the greatest of love and peace to you! And I think the razor blade thing is an urban legend, but it goes to my point): it's all in the presentation. Of the candy/apple... AND the one presenting if. Candy is designed to entice kids. It's packaged the way it is for that purpose: to appeal to the young eye. Thus, if it doesn't LOOK (okay, sound) "bad"... and the one offering APPEARS to be a friend/friendly... the "little children", who are fairly trusting souls... do what little children do: trust.
The fault is not the little childrens', per se. I mean, yes, they (and I include myself in the group) should not have gone with/listened to "strangers." But... (1) how were some to know the "strangers" were misleading parents, as well; or (2) that parents WERE perhaps such "strangers"? And (3) strangers shouldn't be misleading and accosting "little children," anyway. To add insult to injury, they convinced us to sell their "candy" to other little children.
Hopefully, no one got "hurt" if/when/because we did... and if they did, they will forgive us (if they haven't already). Which is why we should forgive others, if/when we can.
