Isn't that a trick question?
They have to be prophets to lead the church/kingdom/people and reveal new light.
Amos 3:7
Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
If they did have prophecies come true then they (c)would be prophets. However, if they were prophets then they would be under condemnation for teaching things beyond the explicit words of God(like a set number of hours to preach or doctrines that have flipped and thus must partially be from man).
Jeremiah 14:15
Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
Jeremiah 28:15
¶Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The Lord hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.
If they are prophets then miracles have not ceased.
1 Corinthians 12:10
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues
If they aren't prophets then they have no right to do anything more than read from the bible, they certainly shouldn't be interpreting.
Oh what a pickle - either admit they have no right to reveal anything or admit that in claiming the right they claim the punishment for all the' mis-speaking'
