Chalam and tec, I think you both bring up good points but I have never considered a soldier as judging. he just follows orders and despite any consequences can always disobey ones he thinks are over the line (in theory)
Wouldn't you say that after 2000 years of 'Christians' being in Armies from nearly all countries and forms of government and forming Church Armies that they
just do it irregardless of ethos.
deisgns I also think that just because others do something doesnt provide proof its good or bad. its a non sequitor. when I left JWs they continually asked where I would go since everyone else was 'obviously' worse. I just responded that that did not make them right.
PSacramento, while I agree that war in the name of god is the stupidist thing ever it is still so easy for people to convinve others that god wanted it. All one needs is the people to believe god is talking to them then they have ample OT evidence to show god is not above having his people fight guesome battles over almost any reason. Imagine those that follow the GB blindly, the GB just has to print a few articles and can have total blind support from the unquestioning members
