    As for saying it makes the protesters feel better - well, isn't that a rather selfish reason for doing something that can be counter-productive (for current JWs who see it as persecution)?

    If you alter your behavior (curb your liberty) because of the cult, then the cult still has a measure of control over you. If you want to protest, then protest. It's not the protester's fault that 7 million people are trapped in a cult.

    Our posts right here on this forum could potentially push lurkers deeper into the organization. Is it selfish of me to post, given this reality? Is this forum selfish?

    I'm confident that we could compile a list of reasons to support the notion that none of us should ever say anything negative about WT to anyone.

    The cult existed before we were born and it will be here after we're dead. Exiting from a cult and recovering from the experience is most definitely selfish and in a very good way, IMHO.
