I have heard that at the international conventions and even at US Headquarters, the governing body travel with entourages or bodyguards. Does anyone know this to be a fact? If so, why? -

They don't want anyone to steal their 33 degree freemason onyx signet rings. -

.... To protect the GB from intimidating truth and intellectual honesty.
Even the GB members have to watch what they read and who they listen to.

They must know they're not protected by the Holy Spirit. -

This is going back 20 years, but when I was at Bethel they just walked around by themselves if they had to get somewhere. No bodyguards that I could see. -

Herd was on the loose among the Herd of sheep in Florida~ 12 years ago, does not mean so, that somebody is not watching over the goings-on for protection, intervention. -

I'm convinced they do have "minders", after seeing the BBC Panorama documentary years ago. Watch the link from 4.00 minutes onwards. Ted Jaracz clearly has burly brothers trying to escort him safely from the platform to the dressing room.

And this was the old generation of "faithful slaves" - before the "overlapping" ones took complete control.
They're even more worried about being confronted and having to give coherent and justifiable answers for their dictatorial behaviour.

I remember while at Bethel when they were having the huge apostate protest they have every year right around lunchtime, Brother sidled wasting ready to walk from 25-30 Columbia Heights down to Standish wish is the complete other end of the block. Myself and a few other young pathetic brothers were so concerned thinking these crazy lunatic apostates would try to kill him... (how fucking Lame)
Anyway we saw him getting ready to go and in a panic began to ask and in some sense beg to protect him He responded with something along the lines that even if they did do something he was going to heaven anyway and he walked solo to the other building... no bodyguard.
My room mate was brother Schroders(sp) caretaker and travelled with him wherever he went to tend to his needs. Helped him up and down the stairs for the stage. Carried things for him etc.. He was like 5 foot 6 and not a protector type. No bodyguards or anything like that.

At Dist Conv's they were often assigned a big, intimidating brother (MS) to escort them. Back when I was involved, many needed someone to ensure their safety from simply falling or stumbling more than being approached by someone with malice.
