Sorry for your sonMe and my wife have just left the truth after 20 years for her and 43 years for me! We have 4 wonderful kids and we are so glad to have had the veil lifted from our eyes about the lies from the WTBTS.

What happened in the car crash to make your son need blood? Were the elders and the HLC there messing things up ?

I hate the religion as I just found out my mom died as a result of my dad's sticking to this teaching when she had a major trauma with her liver exploding and the blood went all over my dad out of her mouth!! No blood transfusion for her! She was dead 4 hours later! My mom was gone!

Never got to say goodbye and my kids always ask about what went on in the hospital. I was working away at the time of the call from the hospital and was told this was it get here fast as she is in a comma. My car has blues and 2's and that was it turn them all on floor it down the M6! Never seen my Mondeo go 140 mph on the clock before! After all this drama she was gone before I got to the hospital.

My mom would not want my JW family to shun us, but they are and it's got worse over the last 3 months.

You know what sod the family and if this is how they treat us then it's up to them. We don't need these people messsing my family

    Leolaia,

If you go to the original post on this thread and click on "apostate's web page" in blue about 3/4 of the way into the story, it links to Shadow Elder's original article.

    HeGoat -

No problem at all. You are still my friend. In fact, come on over for dinner. We're have pasta and a great Oregon cabernet.

BTW - just got an email from Shadow and his son. They are so pleased about the article appearing here and the mostly positive comments about it. Shadow wrote that he and his son are laying a plan to tell the two unbaptized brothers about what has happened and then maybe Mrs. Shadow in a few months. That would leave only the oldest son ("he may be lost to us forever...") and a few more distant relatives. Your comments and the fact that the article has had over 200 unique hits in less than a day have really boosted their spirits.

I'm hoping that they will get registered logins on JWN and start participating with the rest of us, but I guess the home computer is under constant surveillance.

Every single JW that makes the decision to either leave the WT Borg or at least take another look at their ridiculous beliefs is another victory for truth and freedom. Thanks for your help.

Shadow wrote that he and his son are laying a plan to tell the two unbaptized brothers about what has happened and then maybe Mrs. Shadow in a few months.

    Scary plan.

Just because it worked with one son doesn't mean it will work again.

"Tell' is the word I don't like. JWs have a whole host of signals to watch for to ID apostates and being told apostate stuff is way up there.

An occasional very well thought out question, worded in a way that makes them really want to answer it, has to be more effective than donning your Apostate hat and announcing that the Watchtower is wrong about something. Especially while the questioner is an Elder in good standing. That is a real bonus. Let it work for you.

Tag team in presence of Mother Bear..........

    Kid asks Dad awkward question.

Dad gives loopy bog standard WT defence.

    Kids points out silliness.

Dad admits he doesn't have an answer.

Both decide to wait on Jehovah, with rolling eyes and suitable body language.

My dad logged into www.Jehovahs-Witness.net and showed me that they had thousands of visitors who wrote articles and comments about the Watchtower and about JW life. “I’ve learned more from that bulletin board than I ever did reading any Watchtower books. Here, let me show you my article.”

Simon has done a great service for the world. To stay with this board so long and keep it available to people is an awesome labor of love.

I have to agree with you 100%. I personally know of several JWs and ex JWs who are not registered on this site (I think because they are afraid that somehow they might be traced), but lurk and visit it frequently.

Whenever I get permission to republish or adapt an article from a JWN thread, I always include a link back to JWN so that readers can come here and follow the commentary. My analytics show that a lot of links out from my site at ex-JW.com come here after they've read an article there.

Lurking is a good thing - especially for JWN. The fact that Simon has allowed access to most of the sections to lurkers gives them access to subjects and resources unavailable any where else.

Ex-JW.com is not intended to replace or compete with any other JW or apostate sites - but rather to point to them. No one can duplicate what Simon has done. Likewise with Randy Watters, Barb Anderson, Doc Bob, Rick Fearon and so many others. Those sites all stand on their own and approach JW issues and debates in their own unique ways.
