I thought that witnesses were the only religion that uses this name

    In one of the crime series law & order,I cant remember which one,their is a building called jehovah house

    Also in an old war movie their was an" operation jehovah"campaign

    look up u-tube "Jehovah is He" heaps of churches all round the world sing it

    Are Jehovah's Witnesses really the ONLY religion that promotes and preaches the Name of JEHOVAH?

    JW's are always claiming that they are the ONLY religion that preaches and uses the name JEHOVAH, and that is why only they will be saved. For example, look at this quote from the Watchtower:

    The Watchtower, September 15th, 1994, Page 26:

    "Of all international religions, which is the only one that uses God’s name, Jehovah? Is it not Jehovah’s Witnesses? Do you think God would allow them to bear his name and not also give them his holy spirit?"

    But that is simply NOT TRUE. There are several other religions that preach and that use the name JEHOVAH.

    in latin america pretty much everyone uses the name "jehova" for the christian god.

    Many use the form Yahweh or similar too, not just in worship, but in the name of their church or religion.

    For many a long year I believed the WT lie that the JW's were all but exclusive in their use and promotion of the name, I also wrongly believed because God had His name on the WT Org. that He had something to do with it, or some interest in it.

    Oh what a blind, foolish sucker I was !

    That's interresting Hofer, and what do they do with the statements like the one Blondie quoted from WT september 15, 1994? It would sound quite weird if they translated it untouched... like saying for an english speaking: "Of all international religions, which is the only one that uses God’s name, The Lord?"

    but what does it really matter what name we give to a ginormous vacuum in the sky--i doubt if it will take offence.
