Well, his apology and completely different story was posted a week after the DF thread, where he sort of admitted his lies.

AGBM, they don't seem to believe or forgive you. I don't judge them, nor do I blame them. Anyway, keep posting. Someday, we will know the real person.

So he is reinstated from 2008? He just made up the recent DF story? That makes more sense if an elder was calling him to house his sister. If he was still DF the elder would never have the guts to request a room.

On a side note, I think it is DELERIOUS and CRAZY to ask someone to house their sister until she finds a house. Does anyone else think that? I have never heard of such an arrangement. Usually when people get a new job, they get an apartment before they start. Family is one thing, but random friends of friends. No way.

My questions were asked in sincerity. I couldn't figure out why an elder would ask a df'ed person to look after a relative.

At this point, I have no idea what's true and what were lies.

I will bow out of the discussion now.

    OnTheWayOut- Thank you.

It's not going to be easy to regain my credibility on this forum, anyway, I brought it all upon myself.

I just hope we could all move on, forgive and forget.

I'm with Lady Lee... that elder's got a lot of nerve to ask...

...but JWs tend to be nervy when it comes to asking favors. They take that "worldwide brotherhood" thing a bit far at times. They think they can ring up any old dub anywhere and ask them to do something that they wouldn't normally ask anyone else. That's how a lot of con artists work the congregations. Fake sincerity and kindness and then fleece the flock because, hey, we're all brothers and sisters, right?

Just because this is a fellow JW doesn't mean you have to put them up at someone's request. If you're feeling guilty then the WTS still has too much control on your thinking.

Since you say you've moved, this would be the time to start a progressive fade...or just drop out completely. LL has another good point: This could be a ploy to keep tabs on you, though I don't know why an elder in another congregation feels the need to worry about someone no longer associated with his congregation. But some of em are real bastards and like to play god.

It is not a strange thing here in Africa to have that type of arrangement.

Another thing, she got this job on a short notice and never had the time to arrange accomodation.
