  I remember when i was 7 years old, and it was my dads

  time to have us, this was shortly after my parents separated

  and one of the few blue moons where my dad did anything

  for us. He took us to go swimming and we were turned away

  all I can remember was the silence as we were drivin' away

  now you can go just about anywhere and without good reason

  it would be against the law to turn somone away. those laws were

  hard fought for us to be able to enjoy what we have today.

  It used to irritate me to no end when they would go on and on about the imprisonment of the seven (?) headquarters members in 1917.

  I accepted a bible study at the door and the first time they used the word Slave I should

  have ended that study right then and there, they try to make the word slave acceptable

  by saying Jesus was a faithful slave, Jesus was also a willin' slave, Jesus was not threaten

  to do the preachin' work. He may have been threatened to stop, but he willingly continued on

  Most JW's continue on because they don't want to lose their family, they are under some kind of

  threat one way or the other

  One other thing about the sharecropping system, and I promise I'm done.

  Under the system, the tenants furnish the labor while the landowner furnishes the farming equipment.

  Yet, at the end of the harvest year, the tenant NEVER made a profit. It was always a loss or a break even.

  But, guess who was calling the shots and keeping the books?

  Thier use of the word "slave" also demonstrates how archaic the Bible is - their presumed source of using the word. The Bible writings not only use the word slave but accept its practice as part of the status quo.

  My view: The JWs use of the word slave exposes them as a part of the system that oppresses people and, by extension, exposes the Bible as a collection of ancient writings that supported the mistreatment of people, slaves, women and children included.

  If the WTS was to post an article on slavery in the U.S. and told it truthfully,

  they would get some members to thinkin' and they don't want that. if they

  have told it already, it was so slanted you probably couldn't recognize it
