I see the same thing. I was having a conversation with a dub friend this week and she was telling me about their plans for 'in five years time'.

FM-"Some think that if someone is a just good person, Jehovah will see that and spare them at Armageddon. That's not true. If they are not a Witness in good standing, they will not be spared."

    That's absolutely nuts!!!!

BluesBrother - "The flock are getting more mainstream in their thinking, despite what Brooklyn says."

    That's interesting; I didn't know that.

    Can you spell "D-I-S-C-O-N-N-E-C-T"?

The funny thing to me about this disconnect is its an unconscious reaction. The sheep aren't purposely being rebellious, they're just doing whats natural.

." A little later they added, "You know, a lot of these older ones though they would live to see Armageddon.

Thats' because on page 234 in the Reasoning book, the last sentence under the heading of " Last Days "it states:

" The present wicked system of things, which extends worldwide, entered its last days in 1914, and some of the generation alive then will also be on hand to witness its complete end in the "great tribulation"

That goes to show the GB are scandalous liars and false prophets

Yeah, not surprising when you think about it.

The whole notion of "religious exclusivity" has gotten so non-PC and cringe-worthy, that two decades of having to pay lip service to the Western idea that "all religions are just different paths to the same place" (EDIT: plus the fact that the antics and shenanigans of violent religious extremists these days has turned anybody with half a brain completely off of fundamentalism) has effectively cemented the idea in the public conciousness; I guess it was only a matter of time before it started to bleed through the cracks of the WTS's hermetic seal; probably another factor in the increasing shrillness of GB2.0's anti-world rhetoric.

The thing that bugs me is that, the folks in brooklyn make long term plans

all the time, movin' everything upstate don't happen overnight they been plannin'

this a long while, yet the average JW may not plan a meal for tomorrow cause

they waitin' on the big "A"

Wasblind, it's called "cognitive dissonance", dude. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.

    And then some...

If some witness made the comment to me that they were going to stay faithful until death, in case "Armageddon" doesn't come before they die; I would be tempted to point out that "Da Judge" Rutherford - the ARCHITECT of Jehovah's Witnesses' special version of "Armageddon" - thought that HE'D be alive to see "Armageddon"...

But he passed away over 40 years ago, WITHOUT seeing "Armageddon"...
