Thank you for this, Barbara.

There is a big problem with Botchtower's ever changing doctrines though and that is, when a JW contracts an illness of the brain that prevents them from understanding the "noo lite", their very lives are in danger. My Dad is one of these people. He does not understand the blood doctrine changes and so clings to the 'safe' choice of refusing blood altogether. With his advancing age, my hope is he will never need blood. Being his power of attorney is a good thing though. I can claim that I am personally liable if I don't ensure he receives it.

JWs have a martyr complex and the WT no-blood doctrine suits them just fine. It's hard to convince a person with a mental illness that they are harming themselves and their family by their conduct.

As you know, my JW mom died over this very issue. I thought your Big News...was Big...and I still do. What Kerry accomplished was outstanding, I had high hopes the Watch Tower

would someday pay at least a tiny price for their sacrifice of my mother.
