During my couple years as a study, I have found that lying is a highly developed art form with this bunch.

At least the JW leaders knew that it was satan behind the religions that allowed there members to kill their own supposed brothers in christ for a man named Adolf hitler, they were allowed to kill one another shoving the teachings of Jesus aside for the man made word patriotism. Then satan blinded their hearts when the allied side dropped h bombs into two cities where grandmothers, women, children and babies lived and were told they were heroes for these acts instead of being told the truth that it was an atrocity in the name of Jesus. Enough to make Jesus vomit. But the JW leaders were smart enough to apply the teachings of Jesus and have their members go to prision or the concentration camps so as not to kill one another, afterall didnt Jesus say his true religion would be marked by love amongst themselves. Then the blind teachers called them cowards.And the blind followers listened.

AS Ray Franz wrote, they are captives of a concept. They have a 100% conviction that they are God's people and while they wait for him to use them to perform miracles, they do what they can to show followers and non-believers alike they have his "blessing" and endorsement and are his agency to mete out his justice. If that involves stretching the truth a bit, they know he won't mind: the end justifies the means.

Until I was 52 years old I thought my parents were the most honest people you could ever hope to meet.

Then I started asking the questions I should have asked when I was a kid and discovered that their secret was being able to look me straight in the eyes while they lied to me.

They had brought me up to have a conscience, but they didn't have one themselves.

Another possible clue is in the fact that it is a publishing corporation. Actually, the WT uses dozens of corporations that are very hard to follow and make it impossible to follow the money.

A corporation is a self perpetuating monster. It has all the legal rights of a person but has none of the moral obligations. It is designed to look after its self and use all others as fuel. It will at times even chew up and spit out its own board members if need be to protect its own being. Predominantly, lawyers are the real powerhouse behind corporations, often calling the real shots.

There is a ton of ca$h to be made for lawyers in any corporation, and that in itself is enough reason for them to keep it going, no. matter. what. The actual reason, purpose or charter of a corporation is second to keeping lawyers in a job.

Don't kid yourself about a cash poor religion. Money must flow into New York like dollar bills into a vegas casino counting room. Practically no overheads, all buildings built or renovated by volunteers from donated and discount materials, every single thing they print hits 7 million buyers instantly who are ready to 'donate' far in excess of the paper value. Add to that wills and trusts, 'gifts' from wealthy JWs and stock holdings (yes they invest). The vatican they may not be, but poor they aint.

It is thus highly likely but unprovable that large sums of money are laundered off the top through dummy 2 dollar corporations that even to GB may not know about nor benefit from. Those old men are probably satisfied with a cushy office, free travel and their own apartment. With no real world skills or social security i am sure even if they suspected something, they would not rock the boat.

kjw53 . . . apart from being off-topic . . . have you considered that those evil people that slew their brothers in a frenzy of patriotism might also have been making a moral stand for freedom? . . . a freedom you now enjoy to the extent that you can freely practice your religion and even come on the internet and extol it's wonderful virtues? Jesus Christ also said "No man has greater love than this, that he should lay down his life for his friends". I think those that made the supreme sacrifice to remove the despotic Adolf Hitler in order to give you these freedoms . . . would rather you just said "thank you"

Also they are a not for profit organisation, that has its benefits.

I wonder how long they can keep this up for, its 2011 in the information revolution era but it feels like 1974 all over again. I went to a friends wedding two months ago, how depressing listening to sisters and brothers talking about their field service, WHO judges hearts needs to know about field service times? The bible as been preached around the globe and jw dont preach it.

One word : Greed!

This is not primarily greed for money, it is greed for power, control that motivates them. This greediness is now motivating them to baptize children and make them liable for disfellowshipping, a kind of child abuse.

There have been many greedy men in history who had little interest in money or luxuries. Men like Stalin or Hitler, for example. Neither was particularly known for enjoying the 'soft' life - their motive was lust for power and control, no different from Witness leaders today.

MurraySmith--- Heres what God teaches us about the freedom promised from men-- They promise you freedom, yet they themselves are still slaves to corruption. Basically telling all freedom from men is a croc-- I get my freedom from God- They can enslave me or put me in prision, but my body is the temple from which i worship-they cannot take that away- unless they kill me in which i will know for sure i will be ressurected into Gods kingdom. I am sure they will want to if they read my words of truth-because the same as in Jesus day-The world hates truth. The men who promised you this freedom prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they stand in opposition to God and his son. They allow the freedom of corporations to put a big hole in the ozone layer, they allow one to go down on the strret corner to buy a bag of drugs,or a prostitute, they allow people to live together out of the marriage state, they allow gay people. They allow cig companys to add poison to the tobbaco,They are selling us cancer with certain technologies, They themselves are helping to destroy Gods good earth-they have poisioned the air,land,water. They are a house divided,and tell us democracy is the greatest form of govt.But God says-A house divided will not stand. And God also says in Daniel he will crush every govt on the earth-proving they stand in opposition to him.
