Speaking of crazy controlling dub guys. I knew one elder who used to make the sisters kneel before him to check if their skirt length was ok before going out in service. That was just before I started going to the KH. His methods were even too drastic for the Watchtower and I heard that was why the sent another elder to that congregation to get things staightened out.
Geez, they'd hate me, then, because I kneel before no man.
I'd just tell him that's nuts, and walk away.
I think they'd hate my mom, too.
I don't buy into BS like that.
I spoke up to a JW husband who was talking to his wife in such a way right in front of me.
He looked shocked that I'd dare to say anything.
He dropped it right then.
I quit!
This was also happening in my sister's congregation. This elder's wife wore ankle lenght skirts and high collar tops so he expected all sisters to imitate her. One time he confronted my sister about a trivial issue, but she replied that she didn't marry not to have to take orders from a husband...and that she wasn't about to take orders from him. She also noticed that when he spoke with sisters he was always looking at their chest, so one time my sister told him: look at me in the eyes when I talk to you! I don't have to tell you that this guy was staying away from my sister if he didn't want to be put in his place.
