religions do have a good moral framework to offer teenagers/vulnerable peopleI strongly disagree.
I too disagree with this.
They appear ON THE SURFACE to do this. But in truth they do not. And there are countless examples. Look at how JWs affect children and people for instance? Robbed of potential.
Look at the Catholic Church. They encourage NFP and strongly discourage contraceptive. This encourages unwanted pregnancy and children having to grow up in severe poverty or other bad circumstances.
I challenge you to name any religion that doesn't in some manner or fashion severely injure, hinder, or otherwise negatively impact masses of individuals in the name of God and under the pretense of morality.
I was born and raised in a religious environment. I went to religious services several times a week and was forced to knock on doors to proclaim my religious believes to strangers. I was also unhappy, unsure of myself and my abilities, and scared that I would suffer a horrific death at the pending event of the great tribulation.
So forgive me if I disagree with the article.
Theists specialise on superficial morality.
To assert that children are better off being raised with superstitions is risible,
I'm still hoping Outlaw will respond to a reasonable request to post a link to the original source of his copy-paste.

The article Outlaw C&P'd is from Maclean's, a Canadian weekly news magazine, reporting on Canadian issues such as politics, pop culture, and current events.
The article was written by journalists, Brian Bethune and Genna Buck.
But I suspect you already know this.

All by yourself?!..LOL!!
The info is right in the OP..
.
It`s the same friggin article I just posted..
Heres your link to read what you never bothered reading..LOL!!
@Outlaw - 'proof' doesn't sit well with me here, but I agree with you that belief in God can sometimes keep teenagers 'on the straight and narrow'.
Cofty and JonathanDrake: extreme scenario - a hopeless alcoholic with a huge self-destruct button starts to have some kind of personal faith in God, and his over-endulgence in alcohol starts to decrease. Would you tell him to his face there is no god?
Where is the link in the OP and why did it take 3 requests for a simple link?
I suspect you haven't bothered to read it since you have yet to offer a single word of comment.
Any idiot can copy-paste.
Even if Solid Proof were provided that God Existed.....I would never join a religion - good point, I agree with you there. I think I'm confusing religion with personal belief - it's late in the day and I've had a few pints
