''Never allow personal tragedies to embitter you against Jehovah. (Prov. 19:3) As we draw ever closer to the end of this wicked world, more and more of Jehovah's people are being affected by disasters and tragedies. We do not expect miraculous protection at this time''

Here is the other reference to the "slave" on page 5. One thing I check with each kool aid WT is use the search box with the word "faithful" up on top to see how many times they reference themselves. This month there are two, which is about the average I've noticed for about the last year or so...

An in-depth study of God’s Word can produce in you an understanding heart. (Prov. 15:14) That will help you to offer heartfelt counsel that is solidly based on the Bible. If you allowyour decisions to be guided by what you read in the Scriptures and in publications of “the faithful and discreet slave,” you will experience the refreshing and stabilizing influence of Jehovah’s inspiredWord. (Matt. 24:45)

Pretty much a standard reference, but I love how they say "and" in publications of the slave. Can't just read the bible by itself!

    In brief:

First few articles on families, husbands being the head, wives being submissive, doing the family worship, and children setting spiritual goals and turning down worldly enticements to pioneer.

"Oh the Depth of God's Wisdom" on pgs. 21-23 presents a retraction of a typical/antitypical application of the olive tree illustration and it's application to the 144,000 (with respect to previously published information in the Watchtower, August 15, 1983, pg14-17 article 'A Productive Olive Tree'.). Freddy Franz is not going to be happy.

Followed by "Following Christ, the perfect leader". Of course our following Christ's leadership means being submissive to his anointed "brothers". Suprisingly, the article does not mention the Governing Body directly. They do the usual damage control surrounding a "new light" article by stating "Another way to cooperate with Christ’s “brothers” is to have a positive attitude toward any refinements in our understanding of Scriptural truths as published by “the faithful and discreet slave.”

Concludes with the article "Complete Trust in Jehovah inspires confidence" which examines how David trusted in God and applies it to things like: trusting in Jehovah means being loyal to Jehovah which includes how we treat disfellowshipped family member.

    What the hey?

Is the dude offering the ring wearing a lei?

    The mind reels.

Nothing in any photo is there by accident.

What are they trying to say?

    Slightly altered this one

''Another way to cooperate with Christ's "brothers" is to have a positive attitude toward any refinements in your understanding of Scriptural truths
    as published by "us."-Matt. 24:45.

You also demonstrate your submission to Christ's "brothers" by cooperating with the appointed overseers in the Christian congregation.
The apostle Paul said: "Be obedient to those who are taking the lead among you and be submissive, for they are keeping watch over your souls." (Heb. 13:17)

For example, an elder may give you encouragement related to the importance of having a regular Family Worship evening or may offer suggestions concerning some aspect of your field ministry. A traveling overseer may give you some helpful Scriptural counsel on a particular aspect of Christian living. Your willingly applying such counsel shows that you follow Jesus as your Leader. The world is sadly lacking in effective leadership. But how refreshing it is to follow Christ's loving leadership! By all means, obey your Leader and cooperate with us.''

The stupidity continues though doesn't it. How would a witness female/girl/women get to the point where an inappropriate worldly man would be proposing to her. Did she just have this dude in the office decide she might consent to a ring and become his bride?

    LostGeneration:

"The picture on that page is priceless too, showing a woman rejecting a ring from a "worldly man" with a "stop sign" hand. Check it out!"

How did Mr. Worldly even get to know Sister Bitchtower? Don't people usually date before popping the question?

    Villabolo

Oops! Therevealer bet me to it.

I was wondering the same thing therevealer. Maybe they are saying too many people are straying and getting too close to worldly people? Even so, you'd have to be pretty damn close to someone. That or the guy is a psycho. Maybe he was just showing her the ring he got his girlfriend and she had wild dreams of grandeur thinking it was for her? So much idiocy in one picture.
