This guy should wear a helmet. He's gonna hurt himself.
People who believe that socialism in America is huge new threat are about 70 years late for the protests. We've been inching towards a socialist democracy since the Roosevelt years, after the Great Depression. Why?
Because socializing some aspects of the economy and regulation were the only way to save it from utter devastation. The reason there is universal health care in the UK is because it was the only way to salvage health care after the economic devastation of WWII there. Once people got it, they didn't want to give it up. Because people are like that, they like it when their tax money goes to pay for something they really NEED.
See a trend? People who are afraid of socialistic democracy needs to quit exploiting the working middle class, and poor, and then wondering why we have to resort to socializing banks, health care, sometimes even utilities and needing more government involvement to salvage it!
The government, as crappy as it can be, is the only thing big enough to keep big business and finance from stepping on the back of your neck and eating you alive, then spitting out the bones. Quit deregulating them so they can keep raping us, and maybe we really could have smaller government. But, you're doing it WRONG!
I guess they never heard that old American Indian adage about only a fool rides his horse to death, then is forced to eat it because he can't hunt then starves unless someone with more horses comes along and helps him out by giving him another.
Yes, now we have to give the banks, the stock market and insurance companies a horse, dammit and we get to pay for it, but what else is there? They ate theirs and ours too, now!
