No way can this level of publicity be good for the organization. There will be untold numbers of people who hear of this - both in the organization and beyond - who will be disturbed at the whole train of historical events and more recently that highlight deficits in the organizations "approach' to protecting children.
The publicity - regardless of outcome - is a well-deserved embarrassment for a religious organization that has so frequently trumpeted itself as uniquely different from the churches of Christendom and above reproach.
Your average thoughtful reader will be hard pressed to see any merit in the organization's lofty claims.
