A large number of JW.s are Df for moral reasons, so you repent and come back.

What happen when one agree to blood , maybe A parent gave permission for

their child. Is this the unforgivable sin , can one come back after receiving blood.

Do they feel that one sin is greater, (blood vs adultery). It,s crazy when you think

about it, you will let your child die (blood), but at the same time committing fornication

or any other act that would result in DF, no problem, I,ll just repent and come back.

Sometime in the 1970s I recall an elder coming over to a brother's house where I was visiting. He told the brother that he had to get to the hospital because Sister A*** had just given birth and the doctors where stressing her into, I'm not sure which, either getting a blood transfusion for herself or for her baby.

Soon afterwards, I heard her disfellowshipping announcement.

As for planning to "sin" and repenting later, I heard that is common with sisters who commit adultery in order to get out of a bad marriage. I recall the Watchtower stating that the reinstatement process should take into account the probability of such an intent on the part of the person and be made even more rigid to weed out that type of "repentant" person.

Ray Franz described a brother who got The Axe for accepting a blood transfusion in the early 1980s. Note the loving and Christ-like way the Society dealt with George West from the Maynard Massachusetts congregation who was dying of bone cancer and deteriorating quickly:

"....his head was supported in a cage arrangement since his neck bones could no longer bear the weight. The elders [had somehow heard] that George had submitted to a blood transfusion and attempted to ask him about it on several occasions. One night under interrogation he acknowledged having accepted the transfusion. His reason? His children from a previous marriage had heard he was dying and called to let him know they were coming.....to visit him at the hospital. He had not seen them since childhood. He decided to take the transfusion to extend his life a little longer in order to be reunited with his children. The elders disfellowshipped George West only days before he died."-----In Search of Christian Freedom, p. 353

Of all the laundry list violations you can get disfellowshipped for, punishing someone for trying to save their own life or that of a family member is probably the most disgusting thing this cult practices.

They do it different now. They announce Bro/Sis no longer wants to be associated with the org. They still get shunned, though.

Oh by all means, respect the symbol over what is symbolized.

Quite a while ago a brother who had been a Witness for decades was d'f'd for having a transfusion. I was in my aunt's KH when it was announced. The whole Hall was shocked. Everyone sucked in air. One year later he was reinstated. So I know what I would do.

He was one of the first cases of outstanding Witnesses compromising their beliefs so I was shocked. Later, it was so common it was no big deal.

Has the WTBTS ever addressed parents fleeing a jurisdiction to prevent a child from receiving a transfusion.

Jesus condemned adultery clearly and maybe he redefined it as a man can do it to a woman. The blood doctrine is so silly. They aren't in the same class.
