As a young person, I needed to face the fact that I would never grow old in this present system of things. Why not? Because all the evidence in fulfillment of Bibile prophecy indicated that this corrupt system was due to end in a few years. Of the generation that observed the beginning of the 'last days' in 1919, Jesus foretold: 'This generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.' Therefore, as a young person, I would never fulfill any career that this system offers.
It was a wonderful time to be a JDub if you believe ignorance is bliss.

1968 was the peak of the gravy days for the Watchtower. There were wars and reports of wars. We were within reach of the great tribulation. It was so close you could taste the excitement.
Brothers were going to jail, thus proving how close we were to the end.
I was 11 and had my own stinking problems. I was afraid that I would not be able to drive, have sex, live a life before Armageddon came and changed everything.
