    There was a Simpsons episode where a pair of JWs knocked, Marge didn't get to the door in time, they left and had a conversation with each other to the effect of "why are we wasting our lives? we don't have all the answers", after which they tossed the WT mags in the trash at the end of the driveway. Marge was lonely, and so disappointed that they left she said "I would have feigned interest"...

    Then there was a really funny scene in the Coneheads movie, wherein the Immigration agents trying to track them down knocked on the Coneheads' door posing as JWs; they were very convincing (even though they got a couple details of JW eschatology a bit "wrong").

    SNL has been making fun of Jws since the 70's. ( remember land shark?)

    Is that what it was making fun of? I never made the connection, but then I've never been a dub.

    I agree with all those who spoke about how JWs are cool with ripping on "worldly" practices, but are HIGHLY offended when ripped on their bizarre ways. My ultra-conservative, paranoid JW mother would angrily shut the TV off if one of her horrible sitcoms (Murphy Brown, Designing Women, etc.) would say even a simple one-liner about JWs. But she loves making fun of their silly Santa Claus and ridiculous Christmas trees.

    SnL( Land Shark) was making fun of Jaws I guess, but while doing it they had some fun with jws and other door to door folks.

    Land Shark is a very funny skit and for jws to get included was almost an honor. The skit has the woman thinking it was land Stark and opening the door and hitting LS - orly to see it was a jws with WT. Click on my link( in previous post) and see the transcript and the jws reference is at the bottom.

    I also remember Vince Vann character ripping on Jeremy Piven's character for possibly being a JW's in the movie 'Old School.'

    Or....when Al Bundy on married with children was about some JW's out if they came to his door.
